Enable Microsoft Teams notifications in iLobby

With iLobby, you can use Microsoft Teams for visitor notifications. Learn how to set it up below.

The iLobby Teams bot will send direct messages to your employees upon visitor sign-ins. It does not post or read any contents of channels.

Step 1: Download the iLobby Teams app metadata file here.

Step 2: Navigate to Microsoft Teams admin center and login as a global admin to upload the iLobby Teams app metadata file:

  1. Once logged in, press on Teams apps > Manage apps

  1. Press on Upload new app:

  1. Press the Upload button and upload the iLobby Teams app metadata file downloaded in Step 1.

  1. Once the app has been uploaded, press on the indicated link to navigate to the iLobby teams bot settings page:

  1. Verify that the iLobby Bot is enabled and allowed as indicated below:

Step 3: Navigate to Microsoft Teams (web only) and add the newly added bot to a channel (org-wide team preferred):

  1. Press on Teams on the left and select a channel under the required team:

  1. Start a new conversation in the channel, and type the @ symbol to bring up the mention menu. Press Get bots:

  1. Select the iLobby Bot from the bot selection screen, and press Add to complete the setup:
It may take a few minutes for the iLobby Bot to appear due to Microsoft Teams propagation. If you do not see the bot appear, double check that the team is org-wide.

  1. Once added, the iLobby Teams bot will now deliver notifications via Microsoft Teams to your employees.
If you are not receiving notifications from iLobby via the Teams Bot, please make sure that your organization's Teams app permission policies are configured to allow the iLobby Bot.
