FeverCheck PoE Guide

FeverCheck PoE Guide

Purpose
The purpose of this article is to outline the necessary steps to get the iLobby FeverCheck product set up and ready for use with a PoE (Power over Ethernet) connection.

Assumptions
This article assumes that you have received the following items:
  1. Wi-Fi iPad or iPad Pro
  2. Hikvision Thermal Camera

Step 1: Connect the Camera to Your Network Using a PoE Connection
The camera has six different cable connections available to it. However, we will only focus on the  Ethernet PoE jack for this setup. The camera uses an Ethernet PoE connection which allows it to receive data connectivity and power using only one cable. The separate Power Connector is indicated below for reference and should only be utilized in situations when a PoE connection is not available. In such cases, please use the power adapter that is included in the box of the camera.

Step 2: Reserve an IP for Your Camera
Note: This step may require involvement from your IT or network team.
The camera comes pre-configured with DHCP mode enabled. Once it is connected to your network, it will receive an IP address automatically from your DHCP server, managed switch, or router. To find the IP address that was assigned please refer to your IT or network team and provide them with the camera's MAC address as they will need it to perform this search. The MAC address is provided to you by our support team as part of the shipment notification e-mail. Once you receive the IP address from your team, please provide it to iLobby in the FeverCheck configuration document that was shared with you. We will program it into our backend so that the iPad knows what IP address it needs to reach when attempting to communicate with the FeverCheck camera.
Note: If you are not able to perform a DHCP reservation and require a static IP to be set on the camera itself, please reach out to iLobby Support ( support@ilobby.com) to assist with this step. Avoid performing factory resets on the camera as that will remove any customizations that are required for proper functionality with iLobby.
Once everything is configured, you should have an iPad that is connected to your Wi-Fi network, and a camera that is wired to your network via Ethernet PoE. It is important to ensure that the iPad and camera can communicate with each other using this configuration. To verify, open Safari on your iPad and navigate to the IP address of the camera. If the connection is successful you should see a HikVision login page that looks as follows:

If this page does not appear, then the connection between the iPad and camera is currently not being established. Please contact your network team for some common troubleshooting steps. They will need to ensure that the iPad can reach the camera over your network despite the fact that the iPad is connected to Wi-Fi and the camera is wired using an Ethernet cable. Depending on how the network is setup in your organization, they may need to be on the same VLAN (if VLANs are being utilized) or the same subnet.

Step 3: Provide the Completed FeverCheck Configuration Form to the iLobby Support Team
Reach out to iLobby Support ( support@ilobby.com) and provide the filled out FeverCheck configuration form. This will allow our team to complete the configuration on our end and schedule a time that is convenient for you to run a few tests together. We will send out a Microsoft Teams meeting invitation for the agreed upon time.
Note: The FeverCheck configuration form is typically sent to the designated contact from your organization as part of the shipping notification e-mail. If for some reason, you did not receive this form, please engage the designated contact from your organization or request it directly from our Support team using the e-mail address specified above.
