FeverCheck Cellular Guide

FeverCheck Cellular Guide

Purpose
The purpose of this article is to outline the necessary steps to get the iLobby FeverCheck product set up and ready for use with a cellular based connection.

Assumptions
This article assumes that you have received the following items:
  1. Cellular iPad or iPad Pro
  2. Hikvision Thermal Camera
  3. Redpark Gigabit + Power Adapter (correct version based on the type of iPad)
  4. 12V 1.5A Power Adapter for Hikvision Thermal Camera

Step 1: Connect the iPad and Camera to the Provided Ethernet Power Adapter
10.2-inch iPad with Lightning Port and Home Button
For cellular 10.2-inch iPads, the connection between the iPad and the camera is through the  Redpark Gigabit + Power Adapter for iPad. This version of the RedPark adapter has three connections as follows:

POWER - Connect this to a power outlet using the supplied power cable. This allows the adapter to supply power to itself as well as to charge to iPad.
ETHERNET - Connect an Ethernet cable to this port, and on the other end plug it into the Hikvision camera's Ethernet port (see image further below for the correct connector on the camera side)
MICRO USB to LIGHTNING - Connect the supplied Micro USB to Lightning cable to this port, and on the other end plug it into the iPad.

12.9-inch iPad Pro with USB C Port and NO Home Button
For cellular 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the connection between the iPad and the camera is through the Redpark Gigabit + Power Adapter for iPad Pro. This version of the Redpark adapter has three connections as follows:

POWER - Connect this to the included iPad Pro charger using the supplied USB C to USB C power cable. This allows the adapter to supply power to itself as well as to charge the iPad Pro.
ETHERNET - Connect an Ethernet cable to this port, and on the other end plug it into the Hikvision camera's Ethernet port (see image further below for the correct connector on the camera side)
USB C to USB C - Connect the supplied USB C to USB C cable to this port, and on the other end plug it into the iPad Pro.

Step 2: Connect the Thermal Camera to a Power Outlet
This adapter does not power the camera over PoE. Therefore, you will need to use a separate power adapter for the camera. P lease use the power adapter that is included in the box of the camera. Connect it to a wall outlet and plug in the other end to the power connector on the camera. The two connections from the camera side are shown below for reference:

To summarize, the following connections are used for Cellular iPad scenarios:
  1. Camera will be connected to a power outlet directly using a AC/DC power adapter.
  2. The Redpark adapter will be connected to a power outlet using the supplied power cable (or to an iPad Pro charger when using an iPad Pro).
  3. The Redpark adapter will be connected to the camera using an Ethernet cable.
  4. The iPad and the Redpark adapter will be connected using a Micro USB to Lightning cable (or to a USB C to USB C cable when using an iPad Pro).
Once all three connections are made, the cellular iPad will be able to communicate with the FeverCheck camera and retain the internet connection to the iLobby cloud using its cellular connectivity.

Step 3: Prepare the iPad for Ethernet Connectivity with the Camera
To ensure that the iPad can communicate with the camera through the Redpark adapter, a static IP must be set in the Ethernet settings on the iPad. Follow the steps below to configure this:
  1. Open the Settings app on the iPad.
  2. Tap Ethernet on the left (if you cannot find the Ethernet menu on the left, ensure that all of the connections are proper and replug the connection to the iPad).
  3. Tap USB 10/100/1000 LAN on the right.
  4. Tap Configure IP and select Manual. Enter the below details:
    1. IP Address: 192.168.1.70
    2. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    3. Router: Leave blank
  5. Tap Save at the top right.

Step 4: Provide the Completed FeverCheck Configuration Form to the iLobby Support Team
Reach out to iLobby Support ( support@ilobby.com) and provide the filled out FeverCheck configuration form (leave the IP address field blank in the form as it is not applicable for Cellular based setups). This will allow our team to complete the configuration on our end and schedule a time that is convenient for you to run a few tests together. We will send out a Microsoft Teams meeting invitation for the agreed upon time.
Note: The FeverCheck configuration form is typically sent to the designated contact from your organization as part of the shipping notification e-mail. If for some reason, you did not receive this form, please engage the designated contact from your organization or request it directly from our Support team using the e-mail address specified above.
