- For Color Printing: Brother HL-L3230CDW or HL-3170CDW
- For Black & White Printing: Brother QL-820NWB
- Administrative access to the iLobby Portal
Configuration
Brother HL-L3230CDW or HL-3170CDW
Step 1: Connect the Printer to the WiFi network
- Connect the AC power cord to the printer.
- Press the power button to turn the printer on.
- Press the button to select Network then press OK.
- Press the button to select WLAN , then press OK.
- Press the button to select Setup Wizard, then press OK.
- Press the button to accept when you see “WLAN Enable?”. The printer will search for available SSIDs.
- Once the list of available SSIDs appears, use to select the SSID to which you want to connect.
- Enter the password and press OK, then press (Yes) to apply your setting.
The printer attempts to connect to your wireless network. Once it has connected successfully, it displays "Connected"..
Step 2: Determine the Printer's IP Address
- Press the button to select Network, then press [OK].
- Press the button to select WLAN, then press [OK].
- Press the button to select TCP/IP, then press [OK].
- Press the button to select IP ADDRESS, then press [OK].
The IP address of the printer is displayed. Please take note of the IP address: you will use it in the next step.
- Visit https://portal.goilobby.com/ .
- Login using your iLobby credentials.
- Press , then Configuration.
- Select the appropriate site for which you would like to have printing enabled.
- On the Features tab, enable Badge Printing (if disabled).
Note: If Badge Printing is already enabled, press . - Set the Connection Method to WiFi/Ethernet.
- Enter the IP address (found in step 2) of the printer.
- For Media Type, select Brother HL: 4x6 stack (color).
- Click Save.
- Press , then Devices.
- Select the device for which you would like to have printing enabled.
- Set the Connection Method to Wi-Fi/Ethernet.
- Enter the Printer IP address
- Click Save.
Step 4: Confirm Printing Functionality
- Open the iLobby app on your iPad.
Note: You should restart the iLobby app if it is already running. To do this, double-click the Home button and swipe up on the iLobby window to close it. - Proceed through the sign-in process as a test visitor. A badge should be printed at the end of the sign-in process.
- Lock the iPad back into Guided Access by triple-pressing the Home button (press Start at the top right if prompted).
Brother QL-820NWB
Step 1: Connect the Printer to the WiFi network
- Connect the AC power cord to the printer.
- Press the power button to turn the printer on. The status LED turns green.
- Press the button to select WLAN, then press OK.
- Press [Return] to return to the WLAN menu.
- Press the button, select Infra Manual Setting, then press OK. The printer will search for available Wifi networks.
Note: The printer and device need to be connected to the same network. - Use to select your network, then press OK.
- Carefully enter your network password: use the Menu button to choose whether to enter uppercase characters, lowercase characters, numbers, or symbols. To move to the next character of the password, press [OK].
- Press [OK]. If the printer connects successfully, the display shows “Connected!” Press [OK].
Step 2: Determing the Printer IP Address
- Press the Menu button.
- Press the [▲] or [▼] button to select the [WLAN] menu, and then press [OK].
- Select [WLAN Status] and press [OK].
- Select [Infrastructure Mode] and press [OK].
- Next to [IP Addr], you will see the IP address (ex. 192.168.1.2 or 10.0.0.2). Take note of this address: you will need it for the next step.
- Visit https://portal.goilobby.com/ .
- Login using your iLobby credentials.
- Press , then Configuration.
- Select the appropriate site for which you would like to have printing enabled.
