Can I use any ink cartridge with the Epson printer?

For the best printing experience, it’s important to use Epson ink cartridges specifically designed for your Epson printer. When it comes to black ink, we offer 2 types: gloss and matte. It’s essential to use the same type of black ink used to prime your printer as they cannot be used interchangeably. This can be found on the ink cartridges itself.

To ensure you’re all set from the start, we have included 2 sets of ink cartridges in your initial order. Each set contains 2 black, 2 yellow, 2 magenta and 2 cyan cartridges. Here’s how to get started: Begin with the smaller ink cartridge set which intended to prime your printer pads. It will take about 20 minutes for the priming to be complete, keep in mind that this priming will use up approximately 80% of the ink. As a result, it will need to be replaced after printing approximately 50 labels.

Things to note about the ink:

  1. When replacing the black ink cartridge, make sure to replace with a cartridge of the same type of black ink (matte or gloss). The printer does not work if you install a cartridge of different type of black ink. (ex. If your printer uses the Black Matte ink, continue to use Black Matte and not the Black Gloss).
  2.  Install ink cartridges of all colors. Printing is not possible if even only one ink cartridge is missing.
  1. Since ink cartridges are designed to stop the operation before ink runs out completely to maintain the quality of the print head, some ink remains in the used ink cartridges.
  1. Do not open an ink cartridge package until you are ready to install the ink cartridge in the printer.

I just changed my ink cartridge and now I am getting an ink error, why?

It's important to use the correct type of black ink for your printer. Please take a moment to verify the type of black ink you need—whether it's gloss or matte—by checking the information displayed on the front of the ink cartridge. You can also compare it with your previous ink cartridge to ensure compatibility.

It's essential to double-check that all four cartridges are correctly installed and contain sufficient ink. The Epson printer requires all four cartridges to be properly installed and have ink in them to initiate the printing process.
