Brother QL-810W Quick Start Guide

This guide explains the steps required to enable Wi-Fi printing for Brother QL-810W in iLobby.

Requirements

— Apple iPad or iPad Pro
— Brother QL-810W
— Administrative access to the iLobby Portal 

Configuration

Step 1: Connect the Printer to the Wi-Fi network

1. Unbox the Printer.
2. Connect the AC power cord to the printer and to the AC adapter.
3. Plug the printer cord into a grounded power outlet.
4. Once the printer is powered on, hold the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds and release once the blue LED lights up.
5. Launch the Settings app  on your iPad.
6. Go to Wi-Fi settings  and connect to the Wi-Fi network named DIRECT-xxxxx_QL-810W, the Password for this network will be 810xxxxx with the xxxxx being the same 5 numbers from the network name.
7. Once connected to this network, select this network's details with this icon.
8. In the network details, note down the IP address that is listed for Router.
9. Launch the Safari app  on your iPad and use the address bar to navigate to the Router IP address which was written down from the previous step.
10. Log in to the Brother QL-810 Portal at the top of the screen using the Password provided on the bottom of the Printer (Sticker with PWD:).
11. Once logged in to this portal, select Network on the Navigation Bar, then select Wireless.
12. Connect the printer to your preferred network by selecting Wireless (Personal) and selecting Browse next to the Wireless Network Name (SSID) text box. From here you can select your network from the list of nearby available networks and use Submit.
13. From here select your Authentication Method (Most common will be WPA/WPA2-PSK), and under passphrase enter your network's password and Submit.
If there is a Submit Error, scroll back down and press Submit again.
14. When prompted to enable the Wireless Interface, press Yes.

Step 2: Determine the Printer's IP Address

1.    When the Printer has connected to your network, using the QL-810W portal, navigate to the TCP/IP (Wireless) settings and note down the IP Address given.
2.    Launch the Settings app  on your iPad.
3.    Go to Wi-Fi settings  and connect the iPad to the network that you connected the printer to.

Step 3: Configure iLobby to Use the Printer 

2. Login using your iLobby Credentials.
3. In the top right, select Settings  and then Configuration .
4. Select the appropriate site for which you would like to have printing enabled.
5. On the Features tab, enable Badge Printing.
If Badge Printing is already enabled, press Configure .
6. Set Connection Method to Wi-Fi/Ethernet.
7. Enter the IP Address of the printer that was previously written down.
8. Click Save.
9. Select Settings  again, then Devices .
10. Select the device for which you would like to enable printing.
11. Set the Connection Method to Wi-Fi/Ethernet.
12. Enter the Printer IP address.
13. Click Save.

Step 4: Confirm Printing Functionality 

1. Open the iLobby app on your iPad.
If the iLobby app was already running, close the app and re-open it. To do this, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to the middle and then swipe the iLobby app to close it.
2. Proceed through the sign-in process as a test visitor. A badge should be printed at the end of the sign-in process.
