Brother QL-1110NWB Quick Start Guide

This guide explains the steps required to enable Wi-Fi or Bluetooth printing for the Brother QL-1110 NWB printer for iLobby.

Requirements:

·       Brother QL-1110NWB Printer
·       Apple iPad or iPad Pro
·       Badge Rolls DK Series:
o   Brother QL Series, Continuous roll (DK-2205)
o   Brother QL Series with Expiry tag (Expiry/VOID)
·       Administrative access to the iLobby Portal

Bluetooth Configuration

Step 1. Enabling Bluetooth on the Printer:

1.     Turn on the printer by connecting the AC Power Cord to the Label Printer. Then, plug the AC Power Cord into a grounded AC power outlet.
2.     ­­­­­­Hold on the Power Button to turn on the printer.
3.     Press and hold the Bluetooth  button until the Bluetooth LED is lit blue.

Step 2. Enabling Bluetooth on the iPad:

1.     Open the iPad settings  and navigate to the Bluetooth settings .
2.     Under “My Devices” you should see DIRECT-*****_QL-1110NWB, where ***** is the last five digits of the product serial number.
3.     Tap on the printer and after a few seconds, it should now say “Connected”, meaning the printer is connected to the iPad and ready to be used with iLobby.

Step 3: Enabling Bluetooth in the iLobby Portal

1. Navigate to https://portal.goilobby.com/ and login using your iLobby credentials.
2. Tap  button, then tap Configuration.
3. Select the appropriate Site for which you would like to have Bluetooth printing enabled.
4. On the Features tab, enable Badge Printing (if disabled).
If Badge Printing is already enabled, press .
5. On the pop-out menu, set the Connection Method to Bluetooth.
6. Tap Save (at the bottom of the screen).

Step 4: Confirming Bluetooth Printing Functionality

1. Open the iLobby app on the iPad.
If the app is already running, restart it by double-clicking the Home button and then swiping up on the iLobby window to close it.
2. Proceed through the sign-in process as a test visitor.
3. A badge should be printed at the end of the sign-in process.

Wi-Fi Configuration

Step 1: Enabling Wi-Fi on the Printer

1.     Unbox the Printer.
2.     Connect the AC Power Cord to the Label Printer. Then, plug the AC Power Cord into a grounded AC power outlet.
3.     Hold on the Power Button for one second to turn on the printer.
4.     Press and hold the Wi-Fi  Button on the label printer for one second to turn the Wi-Fi function On. The Wi-Fi LED lights green.
5.     On the iPad, go to Wi-Fi settings  and connect to the Wi-Fi Network named “DIRECT-*****_QL-1110NWB”, where ***** is the last five digits of the product serial number.
Ex. Printer Password (PWD: hP#JimtM) and Serial Number (52099)


6.     Once connected to this network, tap on the (i) icon to open the Network Details. Under IPv4 Address, note down the IP address (Default IP: 192.168.118.1) beside Router.
7.     While still connected to the Printer network, open Safari app  and enter the router IP Address to access the QL-1110NWB Portal to begin connecting this printer to your network.
8.     On the text box beside “Login”, enter the password provided in the sticker that can be found under the printer labelled as “PWD: ********”
9.     On the Printer portal, navigate to the following directory to attain an IP address: Network -> Wireless (Personal) -> Wireless Network Name (SSID) -> Browse -> Browse SSID -> Select your Network -> Tap on “Submit” at the bottom of the screen.
10.     From here select your Authentication Method (Most common will be WPA/WPA2-PSK), and under passphrase enter your network's password and submit.
If there is a Submit Error, scroll back down and press Submit again.
11.     When prompted to enable the Wireless Interface, press Yes.

Step 2: Determine the Printer's IP Address

1.     When the Printer has connected to your network, using the QL-1110NWB portal, navigate to the TCP/IP (Wireless) settings and note down the IP Address given.
2.     Launch the Settings app  on your iPad.
3.     Go to Wi-Fi settings  and connect the iPad to the network that you connected the printer to.

Step 3: Configure iLobby to Use the Printer 

1.     Visit the iLobby Portal at https://portal.goilobby.com.
2.     Login using your iLobby Credentials.
You must have Site Configuration permissions to perform this step.
3.     In the top right, select Settings and then Configuration .
4.     Select the appropriate site for which you would like to have printing enabled.
5.     On the Features tab, enable Badge Printing.
 If Badge Printing is already enabled, press Configure 
6.     Set Connection Method to Wi-Fi/Ethernet.
7.     Enter the IP Address of the printer that was previously written down from Step 2: Determine the Printer’s IP Address.
8.     Click Save.
9.     Select Settings again, then Devices .
10.  Select the device for which you would like to enable printing.
11.  Set the Connection Method to Wi-Fi/Ethernet.
12.  Enter the Printer IP address.
13.  Click Save.

Step 4: Confirm Printing Functionality

1.     Open the iLobby app on your iPad.
If the iLobby app was already running, close the app and re-open it. To do this, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to the middle and then swipe the iLobby app to close it.
2.     Complete visitor sign in.
