Brother HL-31XX - 32XX Printers

Issue 1: Badges are printing too small or the color is off or they are misaligned.  

Resolution time
Maximum 30 minutes.  
Assumptions
If the printer is connected to the network wirelessly, you will need your Wi-Fi password handy. 

Step 1: Factory reset the Printer 

For printers with a touchscreen:
1. Disconnect any Network Cable before resetting. On the printer touch screen, go to Settings > All Settings > Initial Setup > Reset > Factory Reset 
2. Connect to your internal Wi-Fi (if applicable). On the printer touch screen, go to Settings > Network > WLAN > Setup Wizard > Select Network 
3. Check the IP of the Printer (if it has changed). On the printer touch screen, go to Settings > Network > WLAN or Wired (based on your setup) > TCP/IP

For printers without a touchscreen:
1. Disconnect any Network Cable before resetting.
a) Press ▲ or ▼ to select Reset Menu. Press OK 
b) Press ▲ and Cancel at the same time 
c) Press OK when Settings Reset appears 
d) Press OK when Restart Printer? appears 
e) Reconnect the Network Cable (if you have one) 
2. Connect to your internal Wi-Fi (skip this if connected via Network Cable) 
a) Press ▼ to select Network. Press OK 
b) Press ▼ to select WLAN. Press OK 
c) Press ▼ to select Setup Wizard. Press OK 
d) You will see Select SSID&Set. It will begin displaying a list of networks. Press OK once your network appears on the screen 
3. Enter your network password. 
a) Pressing ▲ first will give you capital letters. 
b) Pressing ▼ first will give you lower case letters 
c) Press OK once you have entered the password 
d) Press OK when you see Apply Settings? Message 
4. Check the IP of the printer (if it has changed) 
a) Press ▼ to select Network. Press OK 
b) Press ▼ to select WLAN or Wired (based on your setup). Press OK 
c) Press ▼ to select TCP/IP. Press OK

Step 2: Input the Printer’s IP in the iLobby Portal (if the IP has changed) 

1. Log in with your credentials to the iLobby Portal through portal.goilobby.com  
2. From the top right corner of the screen, navigate to Settings  -> Configuration  -> Select your site  
3. Select the Features  tab and click Configure  under Badge Printing 
4. In this interface, ensure that the document is turned on for this site
 
5. From the top right corner of the screen, navigate to Settings -> Devices -> Select the device 
6. In the Device Profile page, ensure that the CONNECTION METHOD and PRINTER IP ADDRESS are configured properly 
 

Step 3: Reset the iLobby App 

1. If using an iPad with a Home Button, double press the Home Button and swipe up on iLobby app to close it completely. Re-open the app. 
2. If using an iPad without a Home Button, perform a slight Swipe Up gesture from the bottom center of the screen, and swipe up on iLobby app to close it completely. Re-open the app.
